Rev. Parisa Parsa • Senior Transitional Minister

Rev. Parisa Parsa roots her ministry in the transforming power of love, practiced in community. She works with congregations and nonprofits to harness the gifts of diversity to navigate change and align everyday practices with values and mission. Born in Iran to an American mother and Iranian father and transplanted to the U.S. after the Islamic Revolution, she is committed to pluralism in cultural and religious practices and to constructively engaging conflict.

A graduate of the University of New Mexico and of Harvard Divinity School, Parisa was ordained to the Unitarian Universalist Ministry in 1998 by 20 of the member congregations of the UU Urban Ministry (including Arlington Street!) She served as the UUUM’s Associate Minister at Large and Director of Renewal House, as consulting minister at the UU Fellowship of Los Gatos, Minister at Large with the Faithful Fools Street Ministry in San Francisco, Minister at First Parish in Milton, UUA New England Region staff, and Interim Minister at First UU Society in Newton. Rev. Parisa began serving at Arlington Street in the fall of 2024.

Mark David Buckles • Director of Music

Mark David Buckles has served as the Director of Music at Arlington Street Church since 2007. He is a prolific composer and arranger of choral, vocal, and instrumental music and an acclaimed performer and worship leader know for his reverent spirit and infectious energy. In addition to his work at the chruch, Mark Davis also serves at the Music Director of The Sanctuary Boston and as a Lecturer in Music Theory at MIT. Mark David has also taught at Boston University and the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Mark David received his Masters of Music in Conducting at the Boston University College of Fine Arts and his Bachelors of Music in Composition from the University of Michigan School of Music. Mark David received honors for his studies in counterpoint and harmony at La Scola Cantorum and L’Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris and is a graduate of the Conductors’ Institute at Bard College. Mark David is a native of Beverly Hills, Michigan.

Jeff Fogleman • Congregational Administrator

Jeff Fogleman has served as Arlington Street’s Congregational Administrator since February 2024. In this role, he manages day-to-day operations, coordinates events, and welcomes visitors and community members with warmth and care.

Prior to joining the Arlington Street staff, Jeff managed the Cambridge Arts Academy, a community music school, and taught bass and trombone. He studied trombone at the North Carolina School of the Arts and bass at Berklee College of Music.

Originally from Brevard, North Carolina, Jeff has lived in Boston since 2009. A former professional musician, he now channels his creative and organizational energies into his administrative work, guided by a strong commitment to service. Outside the church, he enjoys tennis, yoga, reading, working out, and playing with his beloved Siamese cat, Leo. Jeff values the opportunity to contribute to the mission and spirit of Arlington Street Church and is honored to support a community rooted in care, justice, and connection.

Rev. Kim K. Crawford Harvie • Minister Emerita

Rev. Kim served as Arlington Street’s beloved Senior Minister from 1989 to 2024. She is nationally recognized as one of the leading preachers in Unitarian Universalism and known for her moving sermons that inspire listeners with a blend of heart, storytelling, and spirituality. Rev. Kim’s extraordinary legacy includes shaping a generation of ministers by serving a mentor, teacher, and cheerleader to hundreds of preaching students, interns, and ministers in formation.

In her distinguished ministry, Rev. Kim had the honor of being the first openly lesbian minister called to a major UU pulpit and officiating the first legal same sex church wedding in the United States. In 1992, she was the recipient of Harvard Divinity School’s First Decade Award as well as distinguished alumnae awards from Middlebury College and Concord Carlisle High School. In 1996, the Legacy Foundation named her Uncommon Woman of the Year. In 1999, she was selected as one of ten U.S. delegates to Women Waging Peace. In 2002, the Women’s Educational and Industrial Union of Boston honored her as one of 100 outstanding women in the Commonwealth. Upon her retirement in June of 2024, Rev. Kim was voted Minister Emerita by her grateful congregation.
