Take your place in this beloved community of love, service, justice, and peace

Welcoming new members is cause for great celebration at Arlington Street! You will find us to be a community of thoughtful and caring people committed to a faith tradition that works to put our values into practice. Some people know this is their spiritual home right away and others come regularly for years before joining the church. Our membership includes locals and Zoomers from across the country. When you join the church, you make a decision to participate in this beloved spiritual community at a deeper level. Membership entitles you to vote, to have a voice in the direction of the church, and to serve as a leader. Our Membership Team hosts a series of two “classes” a few times a year, offering opportunities to meet our leadership and share stories of the spiritual journeys that brought us to this place.

The only requirement for membership is participating in the covenanting process. This means making a pledge of financial support (of any amount) and paying something towards that pledge. There are two joining ceremonies a year in which we welcome our new members and two meetings of the entire church membership at which you’ll be officially voted in. You are welcome here! Curious? Our Membership Team would love to hear from you at Membership@ASCBoston.org

We Need One Another

by George Odell

We need one another when we mourn and would be comforted.
We need one another when we are in trouble and afraid.

We need one another when we are in despair, in temptation, and need to be recalled to our best selves again.
We need one another when we would accomplish some great purpose and cannot do it alone.
We need one another in the hour of success, when we look for someone to share our triumphs.
We need one another in the hour of defeat, when with encouragement we might endure, and stand again.
We need one another when we come to die and would have gentle hands prepare us for the journey.
All our lives we are in need, and others are in need of us.
